INCIDENT: Auckley Gate House Lane AHB 23/03/06

A car became wedged underneath the AHB at Auckley Gate House Lane near Robin Hood Airport and was struck by a Central Trains service travelling from from Peterborough to Doncaster. The car driver was able to escape from the car before the collision.

There were no injuries to the car driver, the ten passengers or the train crew. The train did not derail and was not damaged.

According to the March RSSB Safety Performance Report, the driver alleged that sunlight obscured her view of the crossing lights.

A few weeks before, it had been reported that a double decker bus clipped the barriers. The driver complained that the lights did not seem to work.
